Intro

Apple Podcasts is a default app for millions, yet many users report friction in discovering and managing content. I explored a concept redesign focusing on simplifying the listening flow, improving discovery, and aligning the UI with Apple’s latest design language.

Goals

  • Improve discoverability of new podcasts

  • Streamline playback controls for casual listeners

  • Create a visual system that feels native to iOS, yet cleaner and more intuitive

Constraints

As a concept project, I had no access to internal analytics or Apple’s roadmap. All design decisions were based on user reviews, App Store feedback, and personal UX heuristics. I followed Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines to keep it realistic.

Results

The redesign received positive feedback when shared online, with over 500+ likes and reposts across Twitter and Dribbble. Several designers and users commented that the flow felt “more natural” and “less cluttered” than the current app. The project helped me practice mobile UX and showcase my visual thinking in a real-world context.
